I was born and raised in Anchorage Alaska. Back then
Anchorage was nothing more then a small town at the edge of a vast wilderness.
This vast wilderness we Alaskan's simply call "The Bush". At an
early age my father Gary King taught me that the Alaskan Bush is beautiful yet
unforgiving place and that the quality of your equipment often makes the
difference between having a fantastic trip while enjoying the rugged splendor of
our great state or having a survival experience that you may not come home from.
Many adventures in Alaska are only accessible by small airplane and when that
small airplane drops you off, leaving you and your gear without another soul
within hundreds of miles, you realize very quickly that “You’re on your own”
and the only things you can rely on are the people in our party and the outdoor
equipment that you brought with you.
